passive house ´FUV´

CASA FUV is a modern sustainable certified PASSIVHAUS house with 3 floors, with each façade designed according to its own orientation.
Its windows are made of timber with a thin aluminum protective plate on the outside and triple low-emissive glazing.

The ventilation system consists of a ground-air heat exchanger system with 2 interlocking units drawing air via earth tubes from a chimney in the corner of the garden.

The occasional heating of the building during the hard winter months of Vitoria is provided by underfloor heating powered by 2 ECOFORREST 120m deep geothermal heat pumps with the possibility of passive cooling in the summer.
Its SAP energy efficiency rating will be a high level A.

CO2 emissions will be limited to 2.6 kgCO2/ m2.

The maximum heating demand will be 15,13 kWh/m2 per year.
We intend to use the house as an experiment which will be studied in its construction and later in its use by the occupants.

Some of the techniques studied will be able to transfer to other designs such as commercial and office buildings.
